At 164 yards, the twelfth hole falls to a green more than 30 feet below the tee. Designer Cam Tyers says players will get the sense that the ball is hanging in the air.
“Once again there’s a lot of differences between this hole and the one that proceeds it,” Tyers says. “There you are hitting out of a shoot and here you have to judge distance and depth, which is always hard for golfers.”
The angled green means players may be goaded into firing at pins on the right side of the green that brings the burn that runs across the front into play.
